CHESS

High School Bredasdorp’s chess team participated in the Overberg Top Schools Chess Competition in Caledon on July 27. Bredasdorp High School’s mixed o. 18-span (o. 14, 15, and 16 players were part of the o. 18-team) achieved 1st position and proudly brought home the gold trophy! Congratulations HSB chess on this outstanding achievement! High and primary schools all played in one hall. There were a total of 247 chess players from 17 different schools in the Overberg region. The BD chess players thus qualify for the Western Cape Top Schools! They will participate in this competition from 30 August to 1 September, in Oudtshoorn. The BD’s are holding thumbs for them!
